I approached the design of the graphics and signs for this Information center and library with great caution, carefully studying the existing space in order to complement and enhance it without detracting from it or creating confusion.
Together with the director of the library, we consolidated a list of words pertaining to the various functions of this information center and public library and to their deep cultural significance. This list served as the basis for designing the decorative Perspex panels and word combinations surrounding the two columns at the center of the library. I was guided by an attempt to combine content, meaning, color and form in order to direct the audience and symbolize the unique characteristics of this space and its intellectual qualities.
